Real Estate
Referenced as Sunny Potrero Hill- it gets its name from its unusually sunny weather, compared to most other parts of San Francisco. It is located on the east side of the city and Carl rarely makes his way over. Because of this, it serves beautiful views of the city skyline and the bay. Potrero is perfectly situated between the Mission and Dog Patch, and with what can be considered the easiest access to the freeway for those needing to get out of the city. Despite its close proximity to downtown, Potrero has kept its quieter roots and is very family friendly.
As with every SF neighborhood, the main strip of restaurants and shops are located on 18th street between Texas and Connecticut. Here you will find plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, and small grocers. With food options ranging from California cuisine, French home-style cooking, Turkish-Mediterranean, and sushi all the way to Peruvian, there is something for every taste!
Some of Potrero Hill’s best rated food spots are El Sur Empanadas, JB’s Place for a quick grab and go as all food is made quickly for pick ups, Chez Maman, and Live Sushi Bar for the seafood lovers. On the weekend you will usually find a large line outside Farleys as neighbors grab their morning coffee and pastries and socialize. Monday nights, stop by Goat Hill Pizza for “neighborhood night” for your pizza fix.

In the mood for an adult beverage? Potrero is home to Anchor Brewing Company which opened its doors in 1896 and is the first craft brewery in America! If beer is not your thing, visit Ruby Wine and La Stazione Coffee & Wine Bar. On those nights you want a bit more “environment” look no further than Thee Parkside, Bloom’s Salon, and Connecticut Yankee to enjoy a night of drinks, food and music!
There are so many perks of living in Potrero Hill aside from the weather, the views, and the variety of nearby restaurants, shops, and bars/clubs. The most undiscussed top perk of living in Potrero Hill is the parking! Yes! You can actually park on the street unlike the rest of the city. So grab your car, and head over to check out all that Potrero Hill has to offer – including the homes currently for sale! 🙂
